Quotes for Vipassana Practice

Quotes are powerful -- usually they are witty, pithy, and right to the point. They serve as the best daily reminders for us, they help us remember what we already know but have not fully internalized.

Over the time I have picked up quite a few quotes, mostly from listening to the Dharma techings by Gil Fronsidal, Joseph Goldstein, etc. Here is a list to start with, and I will keep adding more as I come across new ones that resonate with me.

  • No self, no problem

  • Everything rests on the tip of the motivation
  • The thought of your mother is not your mother

  • Everything changes, nothing is permanent
  • Practice as if your hair is on fire
  • If you let go a little, you will have a little peace; if you let go a lot, you will have a lot peace; if you let go everything, you will have complete peace
