An Edge is a directed connection from one node to another, defining the execution order. Edges can be linear (always go from node A to B) or conditional (branch based on a decision). There are special sentinel nodes/edges: a START denotes the entry-point node, and an END denotes graph termination. This graph architecture is inspired by dataflow systems (e.g. Google’s Pregel, Apache Beam) and even uses similar concepts of fan-in/fan-out for parallelism.
